Rock climbing is an activity in which participants climb up, down or across natural rock formations or artificial rock walls.Rock climbing is a physically and mentally demanding sport, one that often tests a climber’s strength, endurance, agility and balance along with mental control. Boulering by the sun, sand and blue water, Koh Tao (Turtle Island) is located north of its more famous sisters Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. The bouldering on Koh Tao was first developed by Zen Gecko in 1996 which used to be the only climbing school on the island but closed down in 2006. A new venture called Good Time Adventures has established a number of routes on one rock complex on the island
MUAY THAI (THAI BOXING) :
Muay Thai, the national sport of Thailand, is a combat sport similar to boxing and martial arts. However, Muay Thai uses the entire body, incorporating punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes. It is immensely popular and stadiums and training gyms can be found on islands and in cities across the country. On Koh Tao there are two gyms and one stadium. Monsoon Gym and Island Muay Thai, which is attatched to the stadium. Each week there is a fight night at the stadium, where the warriors put their skills to the test against eachother. It’s an experience that can display an ancient part of Thaimand’s culture.
BOWLING & MINI GOLF :
Mini golf is just 150 baht for unlimited playing around the well thought out and fun course. Play seriously or play the spin-the-wheel fun version. The 18-hole course has a landmark theme – putt your ball through Stonehenge or across the Golden Gate Bridge. It is floodlit every evening too, so if you want a quieter night and a getaway from the party in Sairee this could be a good evening choice. Ko Tao Bowling & Mini Golf has several homemade bowling lanes where the employees reset the pins after every frame (300B per hour).
Flying Trapeze is an absolutely unforgettable experience. Anyone can do it no matter what your age or fitness level is. Flying trapeze is where the aerialist jumps from a platform with the trapeze and swings through the air, performing a trick and being caught by a catcher. Learn to Fly in paradise ! Beginners Flying Trapeze classes are open to everyone, no aerial experience is required as beginners will be in safety lines. For those who have flown before, we will work on increasing your skill perfecting your take off and improving the technique you use in your tricks while in the air. Absolute beginners with no experience are welcome but you must be comfortable climbing a ladder and working at height and you must be capable of supporting your own weight hanging by hands from a bar.

Koh Tao boasts some excellent short hikes across the island. Reach the top of tough hills and view your reward of a beautiful oasis before continuing to secluded beaches and relaxing in paradise. Training for Hiking, Trekking and Backpacking is usually going to involve a combination of training for specific fitness qualities, doing sport specific outings and practicing sport required skill elements. There are five major fitness qualities your general training should focus on for Hiking, Trekking and Backpacking. Those qualities are:
- Aerobic Endurance
- Anaerobic Endurance
- Upper Body Strength
- Lower Body Strength
All those qualities are needed in Freediving as well, some of our Freediving training in Koh Tao includes hikes.
